About Bol
Bol is the oldest town on Brač, on the island's sunny south coast at the foot of Vidova Gora, and home to Zlatni Rat, Croatia's best-known beach.

Windsurfing and kitesurfing
The channel between Brač and Hvar has a steady afternoon wind in summer, which makes Bol one of the best-known windsurfing spots in the Adriatic. Schools and rental centres line the coast towards Zlatni Rat.
Vidova Gora
At 778 metres, the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands rises right behind Bol. Hike or drive to the top for views over Zlatni Rat, Hvar and, on clear days, Vis and the coast.
The old town and the Riva
Stone houses, narrow streets and the harbour promenade, with cafés, konobas and the evening passeggiata. Five minutes' walk from the apartments.
Dominican monastery
Founded in the 15th century on the Glavica peninsula east of the harbour, with a church, a small museum and a peaceful garden by the sea.
Dragon's Cave and Blaca
Above the village of Murvica, the Dragon's Cave holds mysterious medieval carvings (guided visits only). Further west, the Blaca hermitage clings to a steep valley, reached on foot or by boat.
Beaches near town
Besides Zlatni Rat, pebble beaches and coves line the coast on both sides of Bol, with clear water and shade under the pines. The nearest beach is about 15 minutes' walk from the house.
Local wine and food
Brač is known for its olive oil, lamb and the Plavac Mali wines of the south coast. Taste them at the wineries and konobas of Bol, a few of them just around the corner from the house.
Boat trips
From Bol harbour, excursion boats and water taxis go to quiet coves, to Blaca and across to the island of Hvar.
